Dublin Fringe Festival announces WEFT Audience Club 2023
Weft Audience Club is BACK for another year!
We are so thrilled to announce the second instalment of the Weft Audience Club. As part of the Weft initiative, the Audience Club seeks to introduce the work on show as part of the festival to new audience members. You will be hosted by Khanyisile Mbukwane (WEFT Project Co-Ordinator).
Come with us and render the city limitless with Dublin Fringe Festival this September.
We are seeking expressions of interest to join the WEFT Audience Club at Dublin Fringe Festival now. Here’s what you need to know before applying:
- We’re looking for BIPOC folks interested in exploring the bold and the new!
- The club will have up to 10 members, hosted by WEFT Audience Coordinator Khanyi Mbukwane.
- You’ll attend approx. 7 shows in the city centre over 6 nights between 10 – 24 September.
- It’s all free! If you need support with travel costs, we will be able to help.

Khanyisile Mbukwane
Khanyisile Mbukwane is an Irish-based writer, presenter, and actress. Originating from South Africa, they have performed at Black Queer Bookclub and R.A.P Party at the Abbey Theatre, Body & Soul. They have been published in Tongues, Breaking Ground Ireland, District Magazine and IambeyoutfiulUk, just to name a few.
Their work focuses on facing trauma, confronting girlhood, and navigating romantic relationships. In 2022, they published their first poetry anthology titled A Girl And Her Poems. The anthology is based on four themes throughout Khanyi's life: trauma, healing, heartache and power. Their live performance of their book took place at Project Arts Centre in November 2022.
