Arts/Non-Profit Senior Management Experience - Dublin Fringe Festival

Dublin Fringe Festival is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Board of Trustees in a voluntary capacity. We are specifically seeking a candidate with senior management experience in the arts and non-profit sector, who can contribute to the strategic direction and growth of our organisation. 

Position: Trustee/Director (Non -Executive) – Arts/Non-Profit Senior Management Experience.  

Role Description: 

As a Trustee specialising in senior management experience, you will play a key role in supporting Dublin Fringe Festival's mission to seek out and present contemporary, playful and provocative new work made by Irish and International artists of vision in an annual celebration which take place all over the city of Dublin. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us maintain and enhance the festival's impact. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic leadership and contribute to the overall governance of Dublin Fringe Festival. 
  • Share expertise and insights gained from senior management experience in the arts and non-profit sector. 
  • Actively participate in board meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes. 
  • Advocate for Dublin Fringe Festival and represent the organisation at relevant events and functions. 

Qualifications: 

  • Senior management experience in the arts and non-profit sector. 
  • Strong understanding of governance principles and a commitment to ethical practices. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute innovative ideas. 
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to the mission of Dublin Fringe Festival. 
  • Availability to attend board meetings and participate in occasional events. 

Time Commitment: 

This is a voluntary position, and trustees are expected to commit to a minimum of 5 board meetings per year including the AGM, and any additional time required for sub committees, special projects or events. Board members are expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation and to attend events where possible. 

 

Fundraising & Development - Dublin Fringe Festival 

Dublin Fringe Festival is currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our Board of Trustees. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a strong background in fundraising and development to contribute to the continued success and growth of our organisation.

Position: Trustee/Director (Non -Executive) - Fundraising and Development

Role Description:

As a Trustee specialising in Fundraising and Development, you will play a key role in supporting Dublin Fringe Festival's mission to seek out and present contemporary, playful and provocative new work made by Irish and International artists of vision in an annual celebration which take place all over the city of Dublin. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us secure the necessary resources to maintain and enhance the festival's impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes of the board.
  • Advise on fundraising initiatives, including donor relations, grant applications, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Actively participate in discussions and decisions related to the festival's financial sustainability and growth.
  • Utilise your network and expertise to identify and pursue potential funding sources and partnerships.
  • Attend board meetings and relevant fundraising and development committee meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fundraising and development, preferably within the arts and culture sector.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with potential donors and sponsors.
  • Understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing arts organizations in securing financial support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Dublin Fringe Festival.

Time Commitment:

This is a voluntary position, and trustees are expected to commit to a minimum of 5 board meetings and 5 fundraising and development committee meetings per year, and any additional time required for special projects or events. Board members are expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation and to attend events where possible.

Role of Trustees:  

Director of the board are both company directors and charity trustees and should understand the legal duties of their role as per the Charities Regulator and the Arts Council’s Practical Guide for Board Members of Arts Organisations. Directors are responsible for the organisation’s strategic direction and to ensure that the highest standards of governance are upheld in accordance with the Charities Governance Code. Directors are also responsible for the legal and financial oversight of Dublin Fringe Festival and to support its fundraising efforts. This can be done in several ways including joining the Fundraising and Development Sub-committee, championing the Dublin Fringe Festival’s work to relevant contacts and making introductions. Board members are elected for a 3-year term which is renewable up to a maximum of 9 years. Board membership is a voluntary, unpaid position.
