DUBLIN FRINGE FESTIVAL RESIDENT ARTISTS 2027: APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
We are looking for three new Resident Artists at Dublin Fringe Festival in 2027. Are you looking for an office space to make great work in? Need somewhere to have meetings, muse and imagine – to make big plans for the future? Could you use some advice and support from peers and the Dublin Fringe Festival Team? Come and join us Dublin Fringe’s HQ! It’s a friendly and busy building full of artists, community and the hustle and bustle of the Festival.
We have one free shared office space here for Dublin based artists at our office to make your own, 7 days a week. The Resident Artists’ Office offers a no-frills workspace – it’s a small room with three desks available. You will be working side-by-side with your fellow residents, so ask you to keep this in mind when applying. You’ll be part of one of the buzziest communal workspaces around!
Being a Resident Artist at Dublin Fringe will offer you the following:
- Free, secure, lockable office space on Sycamore Street at Fringe HQ
- Access to Wi-Fi, printing, and kitchen facilities
- Year-round advice, support and cheerleading from the Dublin Fringe Festival team
- Access to rehearsal studio space at a highly subsidised rate
- Community and networking with other artists from different artforms
- Access to your shared office 10am – 10pm, 7 days a week (except when the building closes for Christmas break)
- An honorarium of €300 towards your artistic practice
- Additional financial support towards mentorship or training opportunities, identified through your meetings with Dublin Fringe’s Programming Team
We want to hear from artists / producers / a small company or a collective who could make good use of office space at Dublin Fringe HQ on Sycamore Street in Temple Bar from January – December 2027. We are a contemporary multidisciplinary arts Festival and are always delighted to hear from artists working in or between a variety of artforms.
Applications are accepted from Dublin-based artists, producers, companies and collectives of any kind. While we welcome applications from companies and collectives, please note there is only one office desk available for you collectively, and the honorarium for mentorship/training is for the company/collective as a whole and not per artist. Please include how you plan to share the space and support as a company/collective in your application.
Please note, Dublin Fringe Festival offices are accessed by stairs only.
Eligibility
You are eligible for this residency if you are an artist who meets the following criteria:
- You are based in Dublin or the greater Dublin area.
- You have presented work to a public audience outside of education prior to the residency.
- Your work is suitable for a desk-based residency. Please note, this does not mean we are looking for a desk-based practise – for example, you could be a dancer in need of time for administration, ideation and planning, space.
- You are not in full-time education during the residency from January – December 2027. Please include details of your availability in your application if you are in part-time education during the residency.
If you have questions or are not sure about your eligibility for the residency, please email the Programming Team on programming@fringefest.com and a member of the team will get back to you clarifying any questions you have.
Room to Create
In the application form there is an option to tick an additional box to be considered for a short-term Room to Create Residency, in the event that you are not selected as a Resident Artist. Room to Create offers a small office in Fringe HQ to artists for one to two weeks, offering time and headspace to experiment, explore and deep dive into a project. Dublin Fringe’s Programming Team will also set up a meeting with you to bounce ideas, get feedback, and push your work to the next level. Room to Create is mainly selected from Resident Artist applications, but we might also offer these residences on a case-by-case basis on other programmes and schemes overseen by Dublin Fringe Festival.
How to Apply
Please fill out the application form by 2pm on Tuesday 27th October 2026.
If you would like to complete the application form in a different format, please reach out programming@fringefest.com. We are happy to accept video applications (no longer than 10 minutes) stating the relevant information outlined above in the application form. Please use wetransfer.com and email programming@fringefest.com a link to your video application. Here is a guide of how to do that.
Selection Process & Timeline
Applications will be assessed by Dublin Fringe’s Programming Team (Bee Sparks - Festival Director, Katherine Murphy - Programme Manager, and Clíona Malin - Programme Assistant). The team considers a variety of factors when selecting the artists – specifically suitability of the space, ensuring a range of artists from different artforms, expressed need, and balance within the group.
