Dublin Fringe Festival announces a new partnership with Irish Aerial Creation Centre
Dublin Fringe Festival is delighted to announce the introduction of a new award in partnership with the Irish Aerial Creation Centre (IACC), commemorating its 10th anniversary. This milestone year, 2025, marks the grand reopening of the newly renovated IACC, promising an even more vibrant future for aerial arts in Ireland. Additionally, 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Dublin Fringe Festival, making this celebration even more special.
As part of Dublin Fringe Festival celebrations, IACC will present the 10 Year Anniversary Award, aimed at fostering and celebrating circus and aerial dance. This award includes a two-week residency at the IACC’s state-of-the-art facility in Limerick, along with a generous €3000 bursary.
IACC has been a cornerstone of the Irish aerial arts community, providing a nurturing environment for artists to develop and showcase their talents. Over the past decade, it has supported countless performers and productions, earning a reputation for excellence and innovation.
The two-week residency will offer the award recipient an invaluable opportunity to refine their craft, develop new work, and engage with the vibrant community of aerial artists at the IACC. The €3000 bursary is intended to provide financial support for the artist during their residency, enabling them to focus fully on their creative process.
The winner of the 10 Year Anniversary Award will be selected by a panel of judges from this year's Dublin Fringe Festival.
"We are incredibly excited to launch this award as part of our 10th-anniversary celebrations," said Chantal McCormick, Creative Director of the Irish Aerial Creation Centre. "It’s a testament to the incredible talent and dedication of our community, and we look forward to seeing the new work that will emerge from this residency."
David Francis Moore, Festival Director of the Dublin Fringe Festival, added, "This award underscores our commitment to supporting and nurturing the next generation of circus and aerial artists in Ireland. Celebrating 30 years of the Dublin Fringe Festival, we are thrilled to partner with the IACC on this award”
