Muster
How can you call someone ‘brother’ while keeping the honest parts of yourself locked away?
Two friends step into a garden after a funeral, hip hop blasting. What begins as a eulogy becomes an excavation; inside jokes, bravado, avoidance, intimacy disguised as violence. Slowly, they speak truths they could never say out loud before.
This new work unfolds as a live concept album, blending spoken- word, rap and storytelling to shed new light on black masculinity and friendships. It asks us to muster our courage: to confront what we’ve inherited and what we’ll pass on, and to speak our love while we still can.
