Brian Melarkey


Brian began his professional life in the arts before making the shift to communications in 2005. In 2012 Brian was appointed the first Creative Director in the FleishmanHillard EMEA network. Specialising in consumer and FMCG marketing communication Brian has overseen creative activations for countless Irish and international brands. Brian was appointed to the FleishmanHillard Board of Directors in October 2017.

As part of his role Brian heads up ContentWorks a division within FleishmanHillard which delivers high quality content for client campaigns across multiple communications platforms. The ContentWorks studio produces bespoke content for social media, television adverts, commercial video as well as offering copy writing and production development services.

As a director Brian’s credits include television ads for brands including Cadbury, Skoda and Centra.

Brian was the Creative Director on the Cannes Lions winning ‘Golden Moment of the Games’ campaign for P&G. This prestigious award marked the first time an Irish PR company was awarded at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.

Brian originally studied acting at the Samuel Beckett Centre in Trinity College Dublin followed by a residency at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo Tuscany. Time spent on projects in Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic help developed his love of experimental, visual, non-traditional theatre styles such as are typical at Fringe.
