An opera in five rooms about living with furniture. Have you ever felt like singing about a trip to IKEA? Or bursting into song after building a bookcase? Come and experience an opera inspired by the IKEA phenomenon. Your journey through CHQ combines the madness of opera with our mania for Swedish furniture superstores. Eight singers and instrumentalists present an ‘awesome’ (The Times London) and ‘simply beautiful’ (Opernwelt, Berlin) mixture of opera, humour and carpentry, with music by Tom Lane and a libretto made of IKEA product titles. We present you, the audience, with all of the pieces you need – you’ll enjoy putting it together.
