Looking for a career in Theatre, Marketing, P.R, Production or Artist Liaison? Have the drive and ambition to pit yourself against thousands lots of applicants for a spot on our team?

ABSOLUT Fringe is a multi-disciplinary festival of contemporary performing arts, providing an annual platform for the most innovative and fresh theatre, visual arts, dance, live art, mixed media and music. We celebrate new and emerging artists and fresh approaches to performance in all disciplines, nurturing artistic ambition and excellence.
ABSOLUT Fringe is a curated festival seeking innovative and daring work that impacts, moves and invigorates its audience.
We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and savvy people to intern with us for up to 4 months. These are not ‘make the coffee/file these’ internships. In return for hours of hard work, dealing with problems others might see as insurmountable and responding to challenges in new and cost effective ways, we promise to big you up to everyone we know, provide you with experience you won’t get interning anywhere else and help you get your foot in the door of an increasingly competitive industry. You’ll engage professionally with leading national and international arts practitioners (and then see their shows for free).

Festival dates are 11th – 26th September 2010.

We have roles in all of our departments:

We will shortly be advertising a Producing Internship for a special project (June-September part time).

So, email us if you’re confident and interested. The roles are offered to suitable candidates following a round of interviews based on the applications received. Closing date is 31st March with the exception of Programming position which is filled once a suitable candidate is found. Recruitment may start during the application period.

Dublin Fringe Festival has always been the natural home of artists who are ambitious, adventurous, innovative and fearless, and who make work in all kinds of places and spaces around Dublin city. This year, a continued emphasis will be placed on new work that reclaims more of our city’s empty spaces and experiments with performance and experiential arts on a grand and minute scale. In 2010 the festival will have a particular focus on works that engage with the theme of community, to be interpreted as liberally and imaginatively as possible by the artists we work with. Too often ‘community’ becomes a byword for disadvantage and exclusion where the myriad possibilities of community, both on and offline are ignored. Dublin Fringe Festival would like to re-imagine the idea of community in 2010. To do this, we need you, artists and thinkers, to make it happen. We want to hear your ideas whether you work in theatre, music, dance, visual art, street-art, film, multi-media or beyond.

Dublin Fringe Festival is a curated, multi-disciplinary festival and year-round organisation focusing on new and innovative approaches to the arts. DFF supports the development and presentation of new work by Irish and International artists of vision, nurturing artistic ambition and excellence across a range of art forms. An active curator, DFF provides an environment in which participating artists challenge, subvert and invigorate their disciplines and practice. DFF provides context for new work and demands audience engagement and dialogue. The scale and environment of the festival broadens arts participation, playing a vital role in the fabric of Dublin and Irish cultural life.

The deadline for applications is Fri Mar 12th at 6pm. We will host a Pre-Application workshop on Wed Feb 10th at 6.30pm in our offices on Sackville Place Dublin 1 (corner of Sackville Place and Marlborough St) to answer all your questions about the festival, how to apply, what we’re looking for and anything else we or you can think of.

I’m a little tired and hung over this morning after our opening weekend but necking the berocca back in anticipation for the next 14 days of full on ABSOLUT FRINGE.

The weekend’s free and outdoor shows were fantastic. Despite the rain, Jago and Ní Mhurchú soldiered on, creating a fabulous dreamspace in ‘Wake Up! You’re in a Meadow’. Issue one and two of Oh! Fringe were distributed (gift), MIND THE GAP brought audiences on a free Utopian Bus Tour on Saturday afternoon and the Performance Collective, enthralled and baffled in the Arnott’s window. Overheard outside Arnott’s window: one woman telling her friend the performance was part of a HSE campaign aimed to get people to reduce their salt intake (!?!) That’s the magic of Absolut Fringe.
Next weekend look out for free outdoor dancing that you can participate in at The Readers, more MIND THE GAP treats and a few family get togethers (longlostcousin.net). All details on www.fringefest.com
